2023 Annual Sisterhood Gathering at Avebury

This is an informal gathering of like minded women (and their children), not just from our own base area in Sussex, but from any location - all welcome.

As it's such a lovely place to go and such a long way to travel for some, we make the actual gathering afternoon only, which allows time to explore the other places; West Kennet Long Barrow, Silbury Hill, The Sanctuary etc.

There are a few local facilities such as the Red Lion which has a restaurant, there are a couple of little shops, a coffee shop that serves cakes, sandwiches etc, and a National Trust house and museum to visit should you wish to. There are public toilets just down from the Red Lion and another set of public toilets behind the museum near the coffee shop. There is a public car park for the site, this does carry a charge but is free if you are part of the National Trust. http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/avebury/

We will meet at 12 noon outside Elements of Avebury shop, which is opposite the Red Lion. Some women plan to eat at the Red Lion before we meet up, others of us will be having a picnic (subject to weather). You are welcome to join in either place to eat together. Watch out for myself and our white banner with logo (pictures of both below). Ritual at 3.00pm, everyone welcome to contribute.

We are set for another annual Sisterhood meet 1 July 2023

At 12 noon, we will gather together, we usually set up in the centre of the Stone Circle (through the gate opposite the Red Lion). This year we may find somewhere more sheltered if the sun is as scorching as it has been.

Here we can do drumming, chanting, soul searching, getting to know each other, meditate if it's quiet enough, or whatever anyone chooses to offer or wants to do. We can get up and dance and sing if we want to - it's OUR Goddess Day!!! Please also bring a drum/guitar whatever if you have one. If it is particularly hot or rainy, we may move under the beautiful tree just off the centre circle after we have gathered together.

We shall be there at Avebury anyway, but please remember this is an outdoor event so wear/bring appropriate clothing for rain or shine.
